Press Release: Lt. Gov. Crouch, OCRA announce 14 communities to receive new 2023 Indiana Main Street designations

Applicants interested in becoming a member of OCRA’s Downtown Affiliate Network (ODAN) are qualified as those working to build capacity to execute the Main Street Four Point Approach, or groups who prefer to specialize in event-related activities only. Members of ODAN may also be those who are working the Main Street Four Point Approach but do not meet the qualification for OCRA’s definition of Historic Preservation Ethic and/or Fabric.

RTC Communications, created in 1949, has been based in Montgomery since the mid 1950’s but has ventured into Washington in the past for sales and service options.  Adding to the Montgomery office footprint with the 311 E. Main Street building in Downtown Washington will provide additional space to service portions of current and future customers.

News 2: Washington IN Theater gets new owners

(WTWO/WAWV) – A long-standing theater in Daviess County is getting new ownership and will be owned and operated locally for the first time in decades.

The Indiana Theater in Washington has been owned by KJB Theaters since 2014, sitting vacant for four years prior to that.

Anything but Common: Groundbreaking makes work on $3.1M project official

Even if the rain came down, the spirits of community and regional leaders could not have been dampened Thursday morning during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Washington/Daviess County Commons.

The $3.1 million project, located in the heart of downtown Washington, that will feature a pavilion and stage, has been in the works for a number of years.

More art coming to downtown Washington

​A new mural will be going up in downtown Washington this summer. The Indiana Destination Development Corporation has announced Washington is one of 38 communities receiving grants for Indiana Public Art Activation and Indiana Placemaking projects. The grant was awarded to Discover Downtown Washington.

The Quick Impact Façade Grant Program, organized by Discover Downtown Washington, has selected the first two recipients to receive a grant. Ten or more façade projects will be awarded matching funds up to $3,500 each, upon completion of the work and adherence to the façade grant guidelines.
