(Montgomery, IN). RTC Communications is rapidly growing the fiber internet footprint in Daviess, Martin, Lawrence, and Knox Counties, and with that growth, RTC is announcing the need for expansion for office personnel and work space. With the fast growth in infrastructure and services, the capacity at the current location in Montgomery has become a challenge. RTC Communications has recently acquired a building in Washington along Main Street and plans to bring their services to the Downtown area, but will maintain the RTC headquarters at its current location.
RTC Communications, created in 1949, has been based in Montgomery since the mid 1950’s but has ventured into Washington in the past for sales and service options. Adding to the Montgomery office footprint with the 311 E. Main Street building in Downtown Washington will provide additional space to service portions of current and future customers. With the newly approved Commons Project, RTC Communications CEO Kirk Lehman commented, “We're excited to be in the heart of the area and look forward to being part of the growth and revitalization of Downtown Washington. We've known that with the growth we have had over the last few years, adding to our footprint would become inevitable. We're excited about the potential and possibilities of having a second location for the company and the community. We look forward to sharing our vision as we continue to work on the remodel of the Main Street Building”. RTC anticipates moving into the building in early 2024.
Beginning with the increase in fiber internet in 2018, RTC Communications was the first internet provider to bring true fiber-to-the-home and business in the Washington and surrounding areas. Branding its own style of internet and business service as Intelecyn, the fiber internet provided by RTC Communications runs speeds up to 1 gigabit on the highest reliable internet infrastructure in the area. In the last 5 years, RTC has nearly doubled its workforce to meet the needs of its customers, while putting over $30 million dollars of internet improvements into the four county area.
